Founder Mārtiņš Saulespurēns
He co-founded Blue Microphones in a small workshop in Riga. The company grew into an industry icon, sold for $117 million, and put a Latvian invention inside every recording studio on the planet. Then he came back to where it all started.
Co-founder of Blue Microphones - BLUE stands for Baltic Latvian Universal Electronics. Inventor of the tunable microphone capsule and the Champagne Cable. Multiple TEC Award winner. His microphones are in the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. After Blue was acquired by Logitech in 2018, he co-founded Neat Microphones. Now, he's building the next chapter from the same Riga studio where his career began over fifty years ago.

The Spaces
Three recording Environments
The Great Hall
The church nave. Eight-metre vaulted ceilings and stone walls with an acoustic signature shaped by nearly three centuries. During the Soviet era, this was the main Melodiya recording facility for the entire Baltic region. The acoustics have been carefully refined - not replaced. Moveable panels allow the reverb to be dialled from a warm 1.8 seconds to a lush 2.5.
RT60: 1.8-2.5s
Up to 80 musicians
Dolby Atmos
Studio A
The basement. Purpose-built for everything the Great Hall isn't - tight, dry, controlled. Pop sessions, mixing, electronic production. Fully isolated from the hall above, so two projects can run simultaneously without a single bleed.
24-channel recording
Stereo & Atmos mixing
Studio B
Clean vocal recording and post-production. Voice-over for advertising, audiobooks, film dubbing, ADR. Operated under the supervision of film sound engineer Aleksandrs Vaicehovskis

Services
Recording
Acoustic and amplified music at any scale. Solo instrument to full symphony orchestra. Natural church acoustics or controlled studio environment - same building, same session.
Mixing & Mastering
Stereo and Dolby Atmos. One of the few studios in the Baltics with a complete Atmos production environment under one roof.
Production
From first concept to finished master. We work with artists who know what they want and those still searching for their sound.
Voice-Over
Clean vocal capture for advertising, documentary, audiobooks, and film dubbing. A dedicated, acoustically isolated room.
Audio Restoration
Digitisation and restoration of historical recordings. Analogue tape, vinyl, acetate - brought back from the edge of decay.
Native immersive spatial audio from microphone to master. Not a conversion from stereo - built in Atmos from the ground up.
Decades of recordings.
Now available digitally.
The RSIS archive holds decades of recordings - the Latvian Radio Symphony Orchestra, academic choirs, chamber ensembles, works by Pēteris Vasks, Imants Kalniņš, and Raimonds Pauls. Originally released on Melodiya vinyl and exported to the West under alternate labels.
